Prof. Dr. Serdar Nasır is a distinguished specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Hand Surgery. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and completed his residency training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, between 1996 and 2002. He worked at Süleyman Demirel University from 2002 to 2009 before returning to Hacettepe University, where he became Associate Professor in 2011 and was promoted to Professor in 2019.
Between 2006 and 2008, he conducted advanced studies on composite tissue transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, working with Dr. Maria Siemionow, who performed the first face transplant in the United States. In 2012, Prof. Dr. Nasır successfully performed Turkey’s second full face transplant and led the team that carried out the world’s first simultaneous quadruple limb transplant. Graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2014, Dr. Erman Ak began his residency in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine in the same year.
